Picking up Chicks

I served as a volunteer medical access driver for 13 years with Neighborhood Senior Services. During this period I met and assisted several hundred local residents, providing them rides to various health services around the county and became good friends with many of them.
I usually drove two or three times each week, taking one to three hours per trip. Most of my riders were elderly women, some of whom had never learned to drive.
I had to resign a few years ago as my own eyesight began failing and driving became more difficult for me, but I still look back with satisfaction on all the people I helped over that period and all the friends I made. Its a great way to help and even in old age it is a nice way to "pick up chicks."
